2017-02081 Legal Secretary - Intellectual Property

Prominent, well-established, successful Philadelphia based, national law firm has an immediate opening for a self-directed, highly motivated Legal Secretary to join their growing Center City Philadelphia team! This is an excellent opportunity to join a very stable, successful law firm with a lot of long-term employees and a very friendly, professional work environment.  This is a full time, permanent (direct hire) position. 

This position will be a critical member of the Patent Prosecution department and will work closely with various members of this dynamic team.  The ideal candidate must have at least 1-3+ years' Intellectual Property experience, specifically with U.S. Patent Prosecution. 

Responsibilities & Skills

  • Working knowledge of the process and legal terminology relating to U.S. Patent Prosecution and Administration rules and regulations (Foreign experience a plus but is not required)
  • Assist with preparation and filing of patent applications
  • Knowledge and experience with the preparation and filing of Information Disclosure Statements (IDS), reviewing related cases, referencing cites therein, conducting searches and on-line research, etc.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy with excellent proofreading skills
  • Experience with patent docketing system and ability to learn new programs easily

The successful candidate will have strong research and writing skills along with exceptional interpersonal skills.  You should enjoy project oriented work within an independent environment.  Must be analytical and results-driven.  Extreme attention to detail and accuracy, excellent organization, time management, and proofreading skills are required for successful achievement of position goals
