2017-01059 Senior Litigation Paralegal

One of Philadelphia’s top law firms is seeking a bright and dynamic Senior Litigation Paralegal to join their growing Health Law department in their Center City Philadelphia headquarters.  This is an excellent opportunity to join a stable, successful firm with a lot of long term employees, offering exciting and challenging work within a professional and friendly practice group.  This group handles plaintiff’s matters - NO BILLABLE HOURS!

This position will work very closely with top litigation partner and his team specializing in medical malpractice, catastrophic injury, and wrongful death matters.  You will assist attorneys in all aspects of legal case preparation and file management from commencement through settlement or trial.  As a key member of the litigation team, you must be able to independently perform a variety of complex paralegal duties with limited supervision and have a solid understanding of legal and medical terminology. 

Responsibilities will include:

  • Draft routine or complex legal documents for review and use by attorneys
  • Review, organize, and summarize case materials.
  • Draft pleadings, subpoenas, discovery requests and response, general correspondence, interrogatories/answers, other legal documents, etc.
  • Conduct legal research and investigations as needed and directed.
  • Assist in deposition preparation, pre-trial investigations, trial preparation, including assistance with preparation of witnesses for deposition and/or trial.
  • Prepare exhibits and other demonstrative evidence for use at trial.
  • Provide assistance at trial

Candidates must be familiar with all aspects of litigation procedures, have 4-7+ years of progressively responsible experience as a litigation paralegal and at least 3-5+ years significant experience in Catastrophic Injury, Medical Malpractice, or other similar Personal Injury law.  College degree and/or paralegal certificate a plus.  Should have a thorough knowledge of law office procedures and local court/jurisdiction rules and procedures.
