Candidate FAQ

Do I have to pay for your service?

No. EKA is an employer paid contingency-based recruiting firm. A contingency firm is a firm that conducts a search and locates candidates for a specific position within the client company. This means, the company searching for talent pays our fee.

What happens to my resume after I send it to you?

All resumes we receive are personally reviewed by a member of our recruiting team. If there is a viable match, we'll contact you to discuss the position in detail and begin the recruiting process.

Will you send my resume without telling me?

No. Your resume will never be sent without your expressed permission. Period.

Will you keep me in mind for future positions if the one I applied to isn't a match?

Absolutely. If the ideal match isn't available right now, it's only a matter of time until something appropriate appears. When a potential position becomes available and matches your background, an EKA team member will reach out to you to discuss the possibility.

Why do I have to meet with you in person?

In order to provide the personalized service we are known for, we believe it is important to get to know you. We are able to better represent you and your interests if we know you—your likes, dislikes, career aspirations, etc.

Will you help me with my resume?

We'd be happy to discuss resume questions and provide feedback to candidates that are selected for an interview with an EKA recruiter.

Are the jobs listed on your website active, "real" job openings?

Yes. Every position listed by EKA is an active opening. Since every search is tailored to our client company's needs and position requirements, every posting is for a different opening.

When and how should I discuss my salary with you?

We will discuss salary in the beginning of the process. Be clear and specific about your current compensation, ideal salary expectation, and what you would consider for the right opportunity. We believe in open, honest communication—especially when it comes to your paycheck.

Do you have a general mailbox for resumes or must I apply for a specific position?

Yes, we do have a general mailbox. If you don't see a position that is a good match for your background, please feel free to submit your resume and salary information to apply@everettkelley.com. Not all of our open positions are listed on our website.

May I speak with more than one employee at EKA?

Yes. Internal competitiveness amongst EKA recruiters does not exist. Candidates are often shared, as we work as a team on all positions.

How likely is it that a temporary to permanent position will become permanent?

Every position is different. However, we conduct temporary to permanent searches in the same way we do for permanent positions. In most cases, the client company is looking to make a permanent hire, but due to a variety of reasons, they're unable to extend a permanent offer at the onset. The ultimate goal is permanent placement, so if it is a mutually good fit, the conversion rate is very high.

When will you check my references? Will you keep my resume and other communications confidential?

Confidentiality is our priority. We will NEVER contact a candidate's present or past employer without their permission—this includes references. All communication with EKA is kept completely confidential.

Do you conduct sensitive background checks and/or drug testing?

This is not a standard practice, but certain clients may request that we perform these services. Also, many clients conduct their own background checks and drug testing as part of their hiring process.

Are all of your positions posted on your website?

No. Our website is not intended as a job board, so not all open positions are listed on our website. Some searches are highly confidential in nature. However, every position on our website is an active opening.

I've had bad experiences with recruiters in the past. Why should I trust EKA?

Because we're rock stars! Why else? Check out what some of our candidates have said about us.
